Alternate winter destinations

Tired of yacht charters in the same old places? While we may think that the Bahamas and Caribbean offer endless variety of destinations and itineraries which can create very different vacations each time a client visits the islands, sometimes we do get asked for new destinations and always spend time researching such diverse locations. This year we have identified a few yachts based in the Maldives. Where are the Maldives? Yacht charter planning can be daunting to many first time charter yacht guests.

How do I choose? what questions should I ask? what should I expect? who can help me? etc. International Yacht Charter Group’s vision is simple, our client’s remain excited on their yachting holiday and we’ll guide them through all the complex questions. That includes both the questions they have and those they have yet to think of. To start the yacht charter booking process a few simple thoughts are helpful:-

• How many guests will be in the party ?
• How many cabins are required ? and what mix of beds? Kings, Queens, Twins etc.
• Where do you want to charter and either the dates you have in mind OR approximate season is plenty.
• What type of yacht, motor or sail and what budget range (or maximum budget) do you have in mind ?

Mediterranean Yacht charters now booking

With many charter yachts in the Mediterranean priced in Euros currently, the cost of chartering one during summer 2008 proved to be a negative for American tourists, the exchange rate rose to nearly 1.6 USD to one Euro. Our representative in Greece noted a large decrease in American visitors. That may change for bookings for 2009 with the current US dollar / euro Exchange rate being approx 1.25 USD for one Euro. That makes the cost of a yacht charter in the mediterranean close to 20% lower than 2008 and may well be the least expensive for a number of years for American yacht charter guests. Requests for information have started to arrive and yachts are now taking bookings for summer season 2009. If clients delayed plans in 2008 for a south of france yacht charter, now may well be the ideal time to get a great choice and spend significantly less than in prior years.
