Yacht Charter in the Leeward Islands

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

These islands form the middle of the Caribbean chain of islands that run north and south between Puerto Rico and Grenada.

St. Maarten and Antigua are easy to get to with flights from the USA and Europe.

St. Martin/St. Maarten is a dual nationality island with both French and Dutch influences on either side of the island. It is the winter “home” to many large charter yachts having excellent facilities for them and easy access for guests. Not far away on your charter yacht is St. Bart’s, which is “THE” place to be for New Year’s Eve. It provides a little taste of France right in the middle of the Leeward islands and is a very popular stopping place for many yacht charter guests.

Antigua, the other large island in the Leewards has a decidedly west Indian British flavor having been a British naval base from the times of Nelson. English Harbor is popular with larger sailing charter yachts. Smaller with their own charms are St. Kitts and Nevis, which create postcard images of dark green, lush mountain topped, islands surrounded by the bright blue waters of the Caribbean sea.

Charter a Yacht to the Virgin Islands!

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

The virgin islands are made up of the British and the U.S. Virgin islands. Travel by plane is easy to St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands. And there are direct flights to the mainland USA and Tortola in the British Virgin islands, which have services via Puerto Rico.

These islands provide the most sheltered waters of the Caribbean islands and are popular for their countless anchorages and their many short sails from one perfect place to another.

Many yacht charter guests consider a visit to the British Virgin Islands incomplete without a visit to “The Baths” and Foxy’s Bar on the beach.

So think about it and let International Yacht Charter Group know when you’ll be there. We’ll find the ideal yacht for you.

It’s time to think about the Caribbean islands

Thinking of a winter vacation? Thinking of one maybe without snow and warm blue water? Think Caribbean islands!

Many types of yachts are available with full crews depending on what type of yachting you would like. Large motor yachts tend to stay in the Leeward islands when not on charter. The larger sailing yachts for charter may base in Antigua or St Maarten, while the majority of smaller yachts, both motor and sailing, tend to base in The Virgin Islands.

The Virgin islands is also home to the large fleet of fully crewed catamarans available for charter.

The holiday season of Christmas and New Years will have premium rates and competition for the most popular yachts with some owners also requiring bookings of 10 days or more. The School and Easter Holidays also book up early. So, think of when you’d like to go, and where and let International Yacht Charter Group get to work and plan a vacation of a lifetime for you.
