Some guests chose to start their charter in Antigua at Falmouth Harbor, an attractive, modern marina. For a day or afternoon excursion on the yacht, enjoy an afternoon sail to Nonesuch Bay for water-sports or just walking the beaches on the undeveloped sparkling white sands of Green Island, one of Antigua's outer islands. This uninhabited island just off the east coast of Antigua and offers secluded sandy beaches to explore and some some excellent snorkeling time. English Harbor
This was once a naval base but now is the location for the historical sites of the island. 18th century fort ruins and museums are found in this popular historic section of Antigua. Antigua, now a popular yachting destination has long had sailing vessels visiting the island. It has a number of safe harbors and the legendary Horatio Nelson of the Royal Navy sailed to Antigua and established English Harbor, Great Britain's most important Caribbean base which was home to the british fleet during the long Napoleonic Wars.
Nelson's Dock Yard
Dating from 1743, this is Antigua's most popular attraction. The dockyard was deserted in 1899, but today is the home to an eclectic mix of shops, galleries, restaurants, and markets. Lord Nelson's telescope can be found in the small nautical museum here. If you visit today you can explore Nelson's Dockyard, part of a national park, your visit can include the museum. The park embraces the whole of English Harbor and Shirley Heights.
Barbuda
Barbuda is a small and quiet island, still untouched when compared to Antigua. You can have your Captain arrange a local boat to take you into the Bird Sancuary to maybe see the migrating Frigate birds and their vivid red mating signals.
