The Caribbean--Yacht Charter Paradise

Private Caribbean Yacht Charters

The islands of the Caribbean are formed into largely three groups, each with its own charm and highlights for charter yacht guests.

The Virgin Islands are located the furthest north and best know for short distances between islands, and a favorite for guests on their first yacht charter. They also are home to the largest fleet of fully crewed sailing catamarans.

The Leeward Islands are the northern islands of the Lesser Antilles chain of islands. The major arrival airports are often St. Martin/St. Maarten and Antigua. The Leewards are the islands than can truly show you the high life on your charter yacht with both English, French and Dutch cultures. St. Bart's is a must stop for many yacht charters and "the" place to be to see the "rich and famous." St Maarten is the winter home of many of the large motor yachts available for charter in the Caribbean.

The southern part of the Caribbean is called the Windward Islands. Winds can be higher and more constant in the Windward Islands than in other areas of the Caribbean, making this area more favored for sailing yacht charters than motor yacht charters. They often are referred to as the "Grenadines". The islands are less developed and can have a slower pace making for a true get away yacht charter. St Vincent may be considered the northern most island accessible by air with Grenada at the southern tip being home to a major airport. Few charter yachts base here but can relocate for a unique yacht charter.
