The U.S. Virgin Islands, USVI, are St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas. While St. Thomas is the liveliest of the USVI, St. John is famous for its untouched beauty with nearly two-thirds of the island kept as a national park.
The British Virgin Islands, BVI, are grouped around the Sir Francis Drake Channel, which acts as a focal point for charter yacht vacations. Virgin Gorda, lying east of Tortola, is home to "the Baths"--shallow pools among huge boulders that flood with crystal clear seawater creating a unique swimming experience. St Thomas--Busy and active as a cruise ship destination, offers abundance of shopping, restaurants and easy access by plane. St Thomas is often a choice only to arrive to and depart from due to it's convenient flights from overseas. Tortola is just a fast ferry ride away if you are joining your charter yacht there.
