Can I really choose from every yacht from just from one broker?

The world of fully crewed yacht charters is small and unique. We are pleased to say that we do have access to all the fully crewed charter yachts available worldwide and can be a "one stop shop" for our clients saving them time and confusion when deciding between many yachts. The yacht selection online is smaller than the complete inventory available to our brokers.

We help you choose from far more private yachts than shown on our site. We only show a sample of charter yachts on our site and most proposals include yachts not shown online.

How many guests can I have?

There are maritime rules that can surprise new charterers. How many guests is one where its one where basically unless the yacht is specifically built for, registered, and insured appropriately, no more than 12 guests are allowed on board at any time regardless of size. It would be common that you would expect that the bigger the boat, the more people you could have which is just unfortunately not true even if there are enough cabins.

This applies even for very large Megayachts that have accomodations for more than 12 guests when the owner is using it themselves; but when on charter that same yacht will be restricted to 12 guests.

It's also common that smaller yachts which can accommodate, for example 8 guests sleeping aboard, that they also are restricted to that same number when cruising. Of course here are yachts that can accommodate more than 12 guests but the inventory of these yachts is extremely small.

Yacht Charters are a lot about the crew

While much time is spent with clients choosing the yacht, we often spend as much time talking about the crew. Simply put, it’s important to have a good and knowledgeable crew. They can make or break the charter.

Our specialists will listen to you and when they suggest various yachts they have often factored in the crew in those suggestions. For example, a great yacht with a crew that doesn't work well with children would not be a good choice for a family vacation. Conversely an ideal crew for the needs of a particular client vs a yacht with less than ideal yacht amenities wise can often dictate the ideal choice of yacht.

The crew can be like having a personal concierge with you the whole time. And once you step on the boat, you don't have to worry about a thing.

While it is complicated to charter, our job is to make it easy.

Boats are not like hotels or resorts where clients can easily book dates and rates. There are many factors involved mainly that each yacht has an individual owner who ultimately decides when it is available for charter and the rate for given dates. The owner signs each and every charter booking.

Owners also need notice for charter because unlike a hotel room or villa, if there are no bookings the yacht is not necessarily therefore available for charter. For example, If they don't have any charters booked the crew may take the opportunity to take a vacation, or they'll do maintenance on the yacht, or the owner might decide at the last minute to use it . That's why a lot of boats are not available for last minute bookings. Our specialists confirm real availability for each proposal to clients.

We have arranged countless charters over more than twenty years and we know how to make it easy for you. Also useful to know is that only show a sample of charter yachts on our site and most proposals include many luxury charter yachts available to us and not seen online.

The rates for yacht charters can be confusing.

We often spend time explaining the charges involved in chartering a yacht. Explaining such questions as; is a yacht 'Plus Expenses' vs. 'Inclusive'. We take care to explain the differences and provide a detailed description of the two.

The total cost for a charter guest includes budgeting for a crew gratuity, this is something that we discuss with clients and suggest ranges etc. There is such a wide range in prices and what factors affect the pricing (no. of staterooms, year of boat, size, owner's prerogative).

Our speciality is that our clients remain excited about their charter vacation while we take care of, and explain all the details.

Cruise ships go farther and faster. - Ok, six common questions!

Cruise ships travel constantly when they are not in port and have fixed itineraries guests are limited to. That allows them to cover much more ground than guests on a private yacht charter where the yachts typically do not travel when guests are sleeping. A charter yacht vaction is much more about being at and enjoying a smaller area, being pampered by the crew and chef. The added advantage is if you arrive at a port and it doesn;t meet your expectations... you can move on, likewise want to stay longer... YOU can !

SO the huge advantage of charter yachts is that the yacht is not on a fixed agenda like a cruise ship, it moves when you want and goes where you want. It’s almost the perfect customized vacation.

These charter boats are not like cruise ships who travel large distances and at night. . And that cruising all day in open ocean, for example between Florida and the Bahamas is not necessarily fun for guests. Most yachts do not cruise at night because simply your crew needs to sleep too.
