Leeward Islands Highlights Tour

Each yacht charter is uniquely planned for you and your guests. There are no fixed itineraries! You'll likely start with an outline of where you would like to visit and for how long. Experience the beauty of private luxury yacht charter. It's your vacation; the cruise will go where you want and stay for however long you wish. You'll be dependent only on the weather and where your yacht can safely go. Enjoy this sampler of where to go to see the highlights of the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean.

Day One:

Begin your leewards island yacht charter in Antigua. Meet your charter yacht at St. James Club or at the Antigua Yacht Club. The crew will help you settle in, and the captain will get you going toward Green Island and Nonsuch Bay. Green Island is privately owned and located at the mouth of Nonsuch. There are wonderful, white sand beaches here on this uninhabited island. Nonsuch Bay, on Antigua's east coast, is full of nice resorts and is a great place to stop for lunch. Spend the afternoon on the beach and get an eyeful of exotic birds and mangroves!

Day Two:

Head to Nevis where the Four Seasons' golf and spa facilities are waiting to help you unwind. Rent a car and visit the Museum of Nevis History, which happens to be where Alexander Hamilton was born. Hike through the rainforest while you’re in Nevis, to really appreciate the change in scenery that a Caribbean yacht charter affords. Relax a bit when you’re back on board as you let the crew take over for dinner and drinks.

Day Three:

Anchor off Frigate Bay Resort, St Kitts. Take advantage of another chance at a round of golf, or rent a car to circumnavigate the island via its only road! Hike up St. Kitts' interior peaks, and look for Fort Brimstone. Brimstone Hill Fortress, a.k.a. the Gibraltar of the West Indies, is 800 feet above sea level and is a vantage point to see all the way to Saba and Nevis. While you're on St. Kitts visit the plantations and sugar factories as well as the beautiful boutiques that feature hand-screened prints.

Day Four:

Get ready for Caribbean posh! St. Barts is next on the agenda and it is a destination you won't easily forget. Explore the island in a mini-moke (a small, open car), and wind around town stopping at various French boutiques, fine restaurants, and fun bars. Stay clear of the airplane landing strip as you make your way toward the gorgeous beaches! Then sunbathe with the rich and famous before you make your evening plans.

Day Five:

Stay on St Barts so that you have time to see the charming French village Corossol. Buy a hand-woven souvenir from one of the area's Breton inhabitants. Motor your yacht up the quay to Gustavia, the capital. Then use the rest of the day to swim and walk the beach at Anse de Colombier. Accessible mainly by sea, Anse de Colombier is a popular yacht anchorage; it is also part of a marine reserve so be ready for tortoise, dolphin, and ray sightings!

Day Six:

Experience the subtle beauty of Anguilla. With its limestone foundation, Anguilla is an island of low terrain that doesn’t require much hiking. There are cays on the northern coast that are great for snorkeling. Take a trip to the west end for Prickly Pear Cays’ beach, and then enjoy a quick launch ride over to the Cap Juluca Resort. Here you will find a full complement of water sports to keep your group occupied for the rest of the day.

Day Seven:

Split your island time between two cultures on St. Martin/St Maarten! This fantastic package contains a French half and a Dutch half. Seek out Philipsburg, "capital of the Leewards," on the Dutch side for duty free shopping. Go to Marigot, capital of the French part, for sidewalk cafes, a picturesque square, and a relaxing atmosphere. St. Maarten is heavier on clubs and nightlife while St. Martin is classy and chic. Both halves enjoy a comfortable beach scene and a hint of Euro-Caribbean flavor.

Day Eight:

Disembark at Marigot Bay, with an easy trip to the large, international airport. Have a safe journey home! Call us again when you’re ready to plan more yacht charters!
