Sample charter itinerary for the Grenadines

The St Vincent, Grenadines Circuit

This group of islands are referred to as the Windward Islands or The Grenadines. Each uniquely planned charter is devoid of fixed itineraries and full of flexibility. You'll create an outline of where you would like to visit in the Grenadines and for how long you'd like to stay. Experience the secret of private luxury yacht charter. It's your vacation, and you can go where you want when you want. You'll be dependent only on the weather and where your yacht can safely go.

Enjoy this sampler of where to go to see the highlights of the Windward Islands beginning in St Vincent. This sampler presumes a fairly fast motor yacht leaving just a day to return north to St Vincent.

Day One:

Arrive at St. Vincent's airport. Meet your crew and be escorted to Young Island Cut's Marina where you will board your charter yacht. Let the captain steer you out of 'the cut' as you make your way towards Mustique. Once you enter the marine conservation surrounding Mustique, you will feel totally relaxed and ready to unwind. Mustique has opted for a health spa, scuba diving, tennis courts, and horseback riding in lieu of traffic lights and modern fixtures. So enjoy your drink as you watch the sunset from Basil's Bar! And if it's Wednesday, consider joining the rest of the island for the weekly lobster barbeque and jump-up!

Day Two:

Head to the popular yacht anchorage at Saltwhistle Bay on Mayreau. Mayreau is the smallest inhabited island among the Grenadines, and it is perfect for exploring by foot (you can walk from one side of the peninsula to the other). Take a swim, wander the beach, and then climb the hilltop lookout if you want a view of neighboring Canouan, Tobago Cays, and Union Island. Return to your yacht anytime, and the crew will be happy to make you feel at home.

Day Three:

Cruise to the Tobago Cays for a day of unencumbered bliss. The uninhabited islands of the Tobago Cays make up the majority of Tobago Cay Marine Park, and you will find that these natural beauties are indeed worth conserving. The water is every imaginable shade of blue, the reefs are prolific, and the beaches are gorgeous. Go ahead and play all day! This area is great for snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, and kayaking. Have your yacht crew explain all the water toys on board and then spend the day in the warm Caribbean Sea.

Day Four:

Next you will go to Petit St. Vincent, an exclusive private island with two miles of white sandy beaches. Petit St. Vincent's green paradise offers both privacy and another shot at water sports. Sunbathe on a secluded beach or get out in the water and try your hand at a new activity. Downing a Hurricane David cocktail at the bar also comes highly recommended!

Day Five:

Experience the warmth of Union Island. Find a mooring off Union Island's Chatham Bay Beach on the west coast and spend the morning on the golden sand. There are no amenities here at Chatham Bay so relish this time that is for you and your group alone. Go for a secluded swim, enjoy the nature, and then eat a terrific lunch prepared on board. Carry on to Canouan where you will stay for the evening. Canouan's semi-arid climate and fishing village community make for a nice, cozy stop. Canouan has a barrier reef on its Atlantic side, white sand beaches, and plenty of sports to keep you occupied.

Day Six:

Take the charter yacht to Petit Nevis for a quiet morning. The only residents of this hideaway are likely to be coconut palms and sea grape trees. Eat lunch and then cruise over to Bequia. Anchor off Princess Margaret Beach where you will find everything you need to be entertained. Visit the Admiralty Bay shops, check out the villages, and absorb the green hillside scenery. Get a drink at The Old Fort Hotel and Restaurant while you take in the view of the Grenadines. For a night out, try the Frangipani Hotel and relax after a full day of exploring.

Day Seven:

The captain will to head back to St Vincent, where you will need to be on the seventh night unless perhaps you stay in Bequia. Did you love the shipwreck-feeling of isolation on a private island? Do you prefer to see people milling about charming villages? Are you up for a trip to a cay that you haven't yet seen? Ask the crew for suggestions or decide amongst yourselves. You can always drop anchor and just spend hours on deck or swimming circles around the yacht if you want!

Day Eight:

Return to Young Island Cut, St. Vincent. Depart at noon. Remember this trip to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the rest of your life!
